Fever? No lah.
I wouldn’t say finishing up all 4 twilight novels within 10 days stipulates a fever, would you?
Hehe.
Here’s the thing, I was pretty sceptical about these novels in the beginning, and the fact that I only saw Twilight the movie a couple of months before the release of its sequel, New Moon can only say so much. Itu pun sebab there were no other movies that I had not seen before in Sky Box Office. So there.
Most of my prior knowledge of Twilight comes from my friend, Intan K. My first impression of the movie.. vampires and killing humans aside, it is a love story with lots of mumbling in it.. if you didn’t pay much attention, you will miss some of the critical conversations between Edward (the vampire) and Bella (the human) that later will shape the significance of their relationship.
When my BFF Fariny flew in from Amsterdam to watch the sequel movie New Moon with her sis, Fi who lives about 5 miles from my place, I wanted to go with them to basically ogle and drool at Edward Cullen, but didn’t have the chance due to my lack of babysitting options. So I am left with my other options, get the novels and find other ways to watch New Moon. And of course, DH had to bribe me with the novels to ensure me staying in bed and getting enough rest… so the plan worked out perfectly.
I started reading the novels, and my, I was blown away. It is a captivating love story, I must say.. and I just cannot stop reading. Stephenie Meyers has strong classic literature roots, and it shows in her writing throughout all 4 novels. There are references to the classic literatures here and there, and they somehow perfected the image of love that Edward & Bella has. Well written & captivating from the first page.. though I am bit tired of Bella & Jacob (the werewolf… macam2 ada.. hahaha) back-and-forth relationship, it all made sense in the end. It kept the central love story interesting, and realistic in a way. Every great love story must has its complications. Of course, having seen the movie before I started reading the books helped, as you can imagine the characters clearly in your mind. (..and drool over Edward Cullen in the process.. ngahahahaaa!)
Yeah, I am a sucker for love stories, I know
. But, if you are a female, who loves to read… I would recommend the Twilight novels. If you are male, don’t bother. You will just not get it, trust me. Especially if you are married and thinks Edward Cullen looks like nyah.
I just wish I am able to read these book as fast as I read the novels.. hehe..

hahaha… aku hanya menonton twilight selepas habis membaca the 1st novel, dan masih belum menonton new moon sampai sekarang. somehow, watching the movie was not as enjoyable as reading the book. (yeah, not really that interested before my curiousity increased with IntanK influenced) I’m already halfway reading the 4th book.. jacob and renesmee? hahaha.. what a fiction!
